William Street ramp floating walkways construction begins

Construction of the floating walkways at the William Street Boat ramp has commenced.

The project was funded by the former LNP Government and is being managed by the Redland City Council.

‘The former LNP Government provided funding of $750,000 for the new boat ramp west of the Cleveland Volunteer Marine Rescue building and two floating pontoon walkways,’ said Dr Robinson.

‘The funding for the floating walkways was a part of the original allocation of funding to Redland City Council for the William Street ramp’.

‘The former LNP government invested over $1million in marine infrastructure with the new ramp in Cleveland and the recent ramp resurfacing at Wellington Point’.

‘The boat ramps at William Street are very popular with tens of thousands of users every year. The construction of the floating pontoons will make for a better overall boating experience for Bayside boaties.’

‘The new boat ramp and pontoons are a win for thousands of Redlanders who access the bay for marine recreation and fishing.
