Please find a statement from Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls:

Stirling Hinchliffe’s so-called “new” timetable is the same one that delivered 333 fewer services a week to Queenslanders at the end of last year.

This “new” timetable means south-east Queenslanders will have 16,000 fewer services for the rest of 2017, with no improvement in sight.

Labor says commuters now have certainty – but the only certainty in Queenslanders' minds is that Annastacia Palaszczuk must finally sack this incompetent Minister.

If she doesn't, train travellers are in for a year of hell and a world of pain.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has been nowhere to be seen during the Christmas Day chaos.

She has run away to far western Queensland straight after her holidays and then says she'll have a cup of tea and a biscuit and a friendly chat with Stirling Hinchliffe when she gets around to it.

It's a disgraceful slap in the face for Queenslanders who have endured this rail fail and this incompetent Labor government for too long.

Over the last three months the system has collapsed at zero notice, families have been left stranded at the station on Christmas Day and they deserted the trains in droves on New Year’s Eve because they didn’t have faith they would turn up on time – if at all.

Who knows what unforeseen chaos is ahead for commuters over the next 49 weeks?

Annastacia Palaszczuk must stop putting her own self-interest ahead of the pressing concerns of Queenslanders right across the state.
