Australia’s First Surgery Guarantee

The LNP Government has announced that local patients in the Metro South Hospital and Health Service will soon receive a guarantee to have their elective (non-emergency) surgery on time, in a national first.

If our local Hospital and Health Service [HHS] cannot provide surgery within this time, then patients will be offered the next available appointment in a public or private hospital at no cost

Cleveland Education Update 

The State government is committed to investing in Education throughout Queensland with a 6% increase in funding. More than $1.8Million will go directly to Cleveland schools in 2015,   $700,000 more than last year’s allocation. This comes on the back of the main infrastructure works completed at BayView SS, Cleveland DSHS and a joint funding project for a new admin building at Ormiston College.

The average Queensland household will save $577 on their power bills over the next five years under a Queensland Government plan to permanently remove the cost of the Solar Bonus Scheme from electricity prices

New Addition to Artifical Reef

An old barge has become home to a variety of fish and other marine life after being scuttled in Moreton Bay, as part of the Newman Government’s $50 million Marine Infrastructure Fund. National Parks Minister Steve Dickson joined locals today to witness the scuttling of the 26 metre, 60 tonne barge at Harry Atkinson Reef, a popular fishing spot 7 km east-south-east of St Helena Island.
